Awakening June
16in x 20in
Oil on Canvas
2012
Awakening June was inspired by the painting by Frederick Leighton known as “Flaming June.” It was created to take a modern approach on this masterpiece through combining cubists formations and multiple perspectives. It is a partially abstracted image containing both June’s awakening state and sleep state. This painting piece is a representation of the original “Awakening June,” and symbolizes that place between asleep and awake.
